HEL/LO - Let’s Talk
The final event in a series curated by The Finnish Institute in collaboration with Blueprint magazine called HEL/LO - Let’s Talk, bringing together British and Finnish architecture and design professionals for a lively exchange of ideas.
I was invited to collaborate with London-based Finnish designer Emmi Salonen of Studio EMMI to create a customized stage/set of chairs for each event.
HEL/LO Let’s Talk About Tomorrow took place at the Old Sorting Office in Bloomsbury, as part of the designjunction preview night program at London Design Festival, therefore Airmail stripes and postal tubes informed the design. As a result of this successful collaboration, Emmi and I are now pursuing further opportunities to combine our creative skills on spatial design and event based projects. ///// Location photos by Aleksi Niemelä

Owen and the Eyeballs
My band Owen and the Eyeballs were recently lucky enough to travel to New York to play a gig at Mike Perry’s Wondering Around Wandering Closing Gala. The night was a huge success and lots of money was raised for hurricane Sandy relief. A big thank you to everyone who came along and showed their support, and hello to all the new friends we made!
